The National Young Savers Awards 2009 took place in the GPO
in Dublin on Wednesday 9th December.
Twelve winning schools
were presented with a cheque for €2,500 each to be used
for the benefit of the school and a certificate of their achievement
by the An Post Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs,
Mr Barney Whelan.
The award ceremony was in recognition of the achievements of
both the students and teachers/administrators involved in the
Cyril the Squirrel Savings Scheme which aims to encourage children
to save and see the benefit of saving.
